Celebrating National Forest Week with Chainsaw Art

Celebrating National Forest Week with Chainsaw Art
Sep 25, 2010

As part of the National Forest Week celebration in the 2010/2011 Forest Capital of Canada, chainsaw sculpturist Ken Sheen demonstrated his chainsaw carving talent in the parking lot of the Community Corner on Friday afternoon.

The red cedar log which was donated by Pioneer Log Homes, was transformed into a wonderful work of art depicting a forest scene, complete with log cabin and bear fishing.

The finished carving will remain on display at the Community Partners Complex and will be part of a silent auction at a fundraising dinner hosted by the Cariboo Food Growers, Community Futures Development Corporation, and the Williams Lake Business Improvement Association, on November 19 in the Gibraltar Room.
